Virginia’s Plan for Smart Beginnings is a public-private strategic plan for early childhood initiatives in Virginia. The focus is to build and sustain a system that supports families and parents as they prepare their children to enter kindergarten healthy and ready to learn and succeed. The goals of Smart Beginnings focus on Governance and Finance, Family Support and Education, Early Care and Education, Health, and Public Engagement.
Virginia's Home Visiting Consortium Virginia’s Home Visiting Consortium is a collaboration of statewide early childhood home visiting programs that serve families of children from pregnancy through age 5. The Consortium reports to the Early Childhood Advisory Council and is a partner in Virginia’s Plan for Smart Beginnings. State Coordinators of each home visiting program are the Consortium membership.
